For example, we stayed in a cabin with a hot tub (yay!) and walking distance to the lake. But there was a faulty furnace and heating system that cooled the living room and bedroom to 90 degrees (don’t worry, I didn’t put that cabin on this list!) We booked our cabin last minute. So we don’t have much choice.

Rental time, but not particularly expensive. When booking a South Lake Tahoe cabin, don’t put the view first.
Walkable: Tahoe Keys cabin roads or countryside feel romantic. But it was very painful to boot. El Dorado County’s mountain roads take longer to drive because of the snow. We were only 17 miles from our cabin when we drove to Tahoe, but 17 miles was more than a 1.5 hour drive. The last thing you want to do is drive an hour into town for dinner. Plus, most of the fun things to do in South Lake Tahoe are within walking distance of the city.
Number of bedrooms: Don’t focus on the number of beds. but focusing on the number of bedrooms in the house Some rentals can sleep 12 or more people, but make sure you have enough bedrooms for all guests to have their own space with 2-3 beds in the room or count the sofa as a bed. (No privacy!) Everyone appreciates!
Number of tubs: same concept! Make sure there are enough showers for your party size. In hot summers, everyone needs a shower every day to cool off, and in winter, everyone wants to shower after a long day of skiing.
