Windermere Real Estate Oak Harbor – The northernmost city on Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor is the island’s largest city, with about 22,000 residents. With the construction of the Deception Pass Bridge in the 1930s and the completion of the Naval Air Station in the 1940s, Oak Harbor blossomed into a city known for growth and prosperity. With so much variation on the grounds, each neighborhood is unique. Westside offers rough seas, strong winds and views of the Olympic Mountains. The Eastside has a great little mall, a full-service marina, and excellent restaurants. There are many outdoor activities: boating, scuba diving, fishing, skydiving (pictured), hiking, sailing, camping and more.
In addition to the many outdoor activities Oak Harbor offers, there are also many hiking trails. Regardless of your fitness level, there is a trail for you. Located in Washington State’s Puget Sound, NAS Whidbey Island is one of the Navy’s largest air stations and serves, among other things, as the Navy’s only facility for electronic warfare training. The base operates two main flight training fields: Alt Field in Oak Harbor and Outlying Landing Field (OLF) in Coupeville. The installation supports training operations for 21 home-based squadrons as well as hundreds of military and civilian ad hoc missions each year. This city loves its Navy personnel and families.

North Whidbey Community Harvest is a charitable organization that provides a free Thanksgiving meal each year at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge. This is the 13th year our organization has provided a Thanksgiving meal through the generosity of local individuals, businesses and organizations on North Whidbey Island. The day is truly a community event, meant to bring our citizens together for a day of sharing and caring.
